Binarhythmic is a MIDI sequencer designed to produce rhythmic outputs based on binary numbers, offering a unique approach to rhythm creation.

The sequencer features a counter that increments with each cycle. This counter's binary representation, such as "010110011," transforms into individual MIDI outputs, where each bit functions as a "Bit." A bit value of 1 indicates an open gate for that specific output, while a value of 0 signifies a closed gate.

Users can manipulate the sequencer counter using the Multiplier parameter, while the Rate parameter adjusts the overall speed of the sequencer.

Each bit possesses adjustable attributes, including note, velocity, gate length, trigger type, and logic operation. Altering velocity and gate length allows for enhanced human-like variations in sounds, making it particularly effective for Hi-Hats. Additionally, users can assign different MIDI channels to individual bits, facilitating control over various synthesizers.

The choice of gate type is crucial for effective rhythm generation. When a gate is opened during a sequencer cycle:

• Rest mode does not transmit MIDI data.
• Single mode sends MIDI once for the initial cycle when the gate opens.
• Multiple mode continuously sends MIDI while the gate remains open.
• Hold mode transmits MIDI upon opening the gate and sustains it until closing.

The logic feature of Binarhythmic offers extensive rhythmic possibilities through various operations on the bits:

• AND (&): Opens the gate if both the bit's and another bit's gates are open.
• OR (+): Opens the gate if either the bit's or another bit's gates are open.
• XOR (^): Opens the gate only if the other bit's gate is not open.

A randomization feature allows users to assign notes to their bits from an adjustable range or select specific notes from a predefined list. In "Random" mode, users can define how often notes will randomize, with an additional Config button appearing for further customization when Random mode is selected. Configuration options are also accessible from within the settings menu.

In multiple gate type mode, users can set randomizer behavior through the settings menu. By enabling "Randomize notes on each sequencer cycle," new notes will be generated with every cycle while the gate is open in multiple mode. If this setting is not enabled, randomization will occur only during the first cycle upon opening the gate.

Binarhythmic operates as both a standalone application and an AUv3 MIDI Plugin. Users can create AU presets and utilize AU parameters associated with the AUv3 plugin, allowing for comprehensive control and automation of all parameters within Binarhythmic. Integration with other tools is facilitated through modulation with PatternBud and control of key and scale via BrainBud.

It is essential to note that Binarhythmic does not produce sound directly; instead, it requires routing its MIDI output to an audio application. For those utilizing the AUv3 plugin functionality, compatible host applications include AUM, Cubasis, Nanostudio, and Loopy Pro, among others.
